Character Name: Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill, but also goes by the name of “Ax” for short.
Series: K. A. Applegate’s Animorphs series.
Gender: Male.
Age: Unknown, but is considered young for his kind; probably the human equivalent of a teenager.
Species: Andalite.
Sexuality: Heterosexual. The closest he had ever shown being attracted to anyone had been an Andalite female named Estrid.

Appearance: Aximili has two forms. As an Andalite, he appears to be a blue-furred centaur, with weak, seven-fingered hands and arms. His head is similar to a human’s, though differed by his almond-shaped eyes, as well as “stalk-eyes” upon the top of his head. These he uses to get a better look at his surroundings. Other than that, there is nothing particularly special about an Andalite’s sense of vision that’s any better than a human’s.
In order to breathe, Andalites are accompanied by three vertical slits as their noses. In addition, Ax does not have a mouth, though he is able to naturally absorb nutrients through his hooves. Although given that there’s not a whole lot of bodies of grass found in Manhattan, Ax doesn’t really have much of a choice of foods. In Andalite form, Ax is capable of communicating through thoughts—in other words, he’s telepathic.
As a male, Ax has more of a bluish tint of his fur, and more prominent due to his young age (as his elders have tan-colored fur as they get older).
Initially, Andalites don’t appear to be all that dangerous, until one notes at the end of their long tails, the scythe-shaped blade. With this, they are able to whip their tails out all the way in front of them, which makes it fairly useful in a fight.
Now, in human form, Ax looks significantly different. This form he managed by acquiring four samples of human DNA. Through what they call a Frolis Maneuver, Ax was able to merge the DNA into a new, original form rather than morphing into a copy of another person. While as a human Ax feels considerably more vulnerable, he sometimes tends to prefer his human form than his Andalite. He is fairly attractive as a human; brownish gold hair with a little bit of a curl, and light brown skin. He wears average clothes when in this shape. Over the years Ax has learned how to assimilate himself into human society well enough to know how to dress and act just like them.

Personality: Although young for his kind, Ax holds great pride in his race. To some, he can come off as arrogant. He can also come off as naïve as well, but that is mostly due to the cultural differences from where Ax is from. Initially, he could not grasp the concept of human culture, growing easily frustrated with it as he tried to assimilate into their society while stranded on Earth. However, over time the alien grew to appreciate human civilization and even sided with them over his own Andalite kind. It could possibly be due to how long he’d spent among them, but Ax gradually became more and more like a human himself, and even appreciated his human form over his alien one. Although he never speaks of it to anyone, there were times he considered becoming a human nothlit, what becomes of a morpher when they are in a morph for longer than two hours and are unable to revert back to their original form. While Ax still takes pride in his alien heritage, he also prides in the fact that he’s the most knowledgeable Andalite on human culture.
As an Andalite Ax can be fairly serious, stern. But in human form, a lot of that seems to change. Ax becomes engrossed in his surroundings, particularly with his sense of speech, which he’s deprived of from his lack of having a mouth as an Andalite. He is partial to shoveling food into his mouth, both edible and non-edible, and is very enthused about trying a wide variety of new tastes and words. He often repeats certain words he finds fun to say (for instance, he likes the way the letter Z “tingles” on his tongue). His facial expressions change drastically, as he becomes very enthused by his newfound human senses that he takes in every moment of it.
Among his favorite sins, Ax loves cinnamon buns, chocolate, cigarette butts, popcorn, coffee and a variety of junk food. He is an addict of television and the radio, and is particularly fond of commercials, which he refers to as “These Messages”. To many he is an eccentric, but in truth Ax is just in love with the human way of life.

Abilities: In Andalite form, Ax is very agile and can run for a lot longer than most people can, pretty much retaining the endurance of a horse. Andalites also have two hearts, which grant them more stamina than the average human.
His ability to see all around at a 130-degree angle with the use of his stalk-eyes make sneaking up on him difficult as well.
Due to his usually naïve demeanor, he doesn’t seem like the type to be really good with computers. In fact, Ax is an extremely intelligible creature with exceptional hacking abilities, and there is almost nothing that he can’t hack into. He is also really quick when it comes to picking up on how foreign technology works. Although Ax is an aristh—a cadet by the Andalite military terms—he would probably make more of a useful scientist than anything.

Weaknesses: While still retaining his ability to morph, Ax has been limited to shifting only between his Andalite and human form. After having acquired so many over the years, this leaves him feeling a little handicapped, although now that the war he fought is over there really isn’t much use for it anymore. He is also unable to acquire any more DNA, so he cannot change into anyone or anything else other than his two forms.
Physically, Ax is not all that strong, even as a young Andalite, and his physical strengths are only reduced more so by Manhattan’s pull.
In human form, food could be considered Ax’s greatest weakness. He could almost be considered an addict to the taste of food, both edible and non-edible.
Also, he cannot stay in human form for longer than two hours—if he does, he will be trapped that way, never to return to his original state. Although he considered becoming a human altogether, he could not relinquish his pride long enough to follow this.

Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider, and not even from the same planet but the Andalite’s home world, wherever that may be.
